WE ARE A LEADERSHIP TRANSFORMATION GRANT PARTNER WITH THE KANSAS LEADERSHIP CENTER, WHICH IS MADE UP OF PASSIONATE AND COMMITTED LEADERSHIP DEVELOPERS WHO WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN KANSAS. THEY ASPIRE TO HELP PEOPLE LEAD MORE EFFECTIVELY ON THE CHALLENGES FACING THEM, AND AS A PARTNER OF OURS, THEY ARE HELPING US DO JUST THAT.

Through our grant, we have the opportunity to send the people of our community to training with KLC, where they will learn the principals of KLC and experiment with their competencies. For over a decade now, KLC has been helping organizations, here at home in Kansas and around the world, make progress on what matters most to them. We have already seen that happening with our work with them thus far, and are grateful for the chance to steep more of our people in the KLC way.

We believe KLC's assertion that leadership is not limited to a few people in authority, but instead is an activity that anyone can engage anywhere. We are creating a culture here, where we live that belief, and are grateful for the opportunity for more of our people to realize and build upon their own leadership capacity. Signing up to attend training does not commit you to anything here at the church — we just know this experience will be beneficial to our people wherever or however they put it into use. We trust that the more people around here who have engaged with KLC the better!

These are just a few of the reasons KLC training is seen as worthwhile by nearly everyone who attends it. KLC is focused on helping make communities stronger and healthier and seeks to do that by empowering leaders. They have been doing this work for over a decade now, learning and improving each step of the way, to ensure their impact is significant. Their training creates space for people to put their leadership framework to work in the training itself, allowing attendees to not just gain knowledge, but already start applying it where they want to see progress happen.

We are already seeing some of these benefits through our work with KLC and cannot wait to see the progress we can make as we take advantage of our transformation grant this year.  If you are interested in attending training with KLC, the first phase of their training is a two-day program called Your Leadership Edge that is offered the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month the rest of the year. Email Pastor Clare to let her know you would like to register or to talk more about this opportunity!
